Selectmen vote to cut economic development budget in half

NH ALLENSTOWN — Allenstown selectboard cuts economic development budget in half as part of spending reduction effort. Selectman Trish Caruso proposed and led the motion to reduce the committee's annual funding from six thousand to three thousand dollars, with the board voting unanimously in favor. The board also unanimously approved hiring Chris Fortier as an on-call firefighter at 22 dollars and 91 cents per hour effective June 3rd.
The budget reduction includes a new requirement for the development committee to file annual reports detailing all supported events, costs, and attendance figures.
