Selectboard Hires Officer to Meet August Academy Deadline
Board Of Selectmen · Meeting of June 22, 2026
NH ALLENSTOWN — Allenstown selectboard hires police officer to meet academy deadline, rejects fire chief term extension. Chair Kathleen Pelissier moved to hire Elijah Boyle as a full-time officer at $27.97 per hour, effective July 5, 2026, with the motion passing unanimously. The hire was prompted by a tight deadline for August Police Academy enrollment, with only three vacancies available and the next academy not until January 2027.
Selectman Kris Fowler moved to extend Fire Chief John Sartorelli's one-year term by two years, but the motion failed 2-3 after board members objected, citing the need for a one-year evaluation period.
