Selectboard explores major shift in emergency services and fund management
Board Of Selectmen · Meeting of June 29, 2026
NH ALLENSTOWN — Allenstown selectboard weighs major shifts to emergency services and municipal fund oversight. The Board of Selectmen discussed a proposal to discontinue the town's Emergency Services Revolving Fund and establish a voter-controlled Capital Reserve Fund, which would require voter approval via warrant article. Fire Chief John Sartorelli cautioned that eliminating the fund during a default budget would necessitate laying off at least two employees and potentially halt ambulance services, noting the department is experiencing record call volume and tracking 70 calls above last year.
The Trustees of the Trust Funds also announced a transition from TD Wealth to Three Bearings Investment Academy in Hampton, New Hampshire, with new policies requiring warrant article documentation for all fund disbursements.
