Economic Development Committee reviews McDonald's opening, advances community events committee

NH ALLENSTOWN — Economic Development Committee lauds McDonald's opening, pursues community events structure. The committee reviewed McDonald's July 15 opening, which added more than 35 employees and new taxable value to the town with potential meals and rooms tax revenue through state distributions. Owner Mike Ambino and Jeremy Hinton, director of New England store operations, were welcomed by town representatives.

The Select Board has approved recruiting residents for a proposed Community Events and Recreation Committee that would include five members on a staggered basis with authority to propose and manage an annual budget. Approximately four residents have expressed interest; the committee aims to recruit at least eight.
