Board approves building capital work, tables emergency services proposal

NH ALLENSTOWN — Board approves $13,500 in building capital expenses while tabling emergency funding. The board unanimously authorized capital improvements to the new municipal building and increased an administrative assistant's hourly wage from $30.47 to $33.64 per hour. Board member Kathleen Pelissier's proposal to transfer $200,000 from the Emergency Services Revolving Fund to Fire and Police operating budgets drew opposition from Fire Chief Eric Lambert, who contended the transfer would jeopardize ambulance service and should have been vetted with department heads first.
The board also deferred discussion of proposed changes to meeting procedures to May 18 after member Laura Lambert proposed limiting citizens' comments to meeting start and end times.
