Allenstown presents dual teacher, support staff pay proposals for August vote

NH ALLENSTOWN — Allenstown Budget Committee holds public hearing on dual school labor proposals. The paraprofessional and support staff contract would cost $44,930 in increased salaries and benefits for approximately 35 employees (3.5 percent adjustment), with a tax impact of $0.08 per $1,000 valuation. The certified staff contract would cost $163,628 for approximately 38 teachers and certified personnel, also 3.5 percent (tax impact $0.31 per $1,000 valuation).
Keith Klaus, School Board Chair, cited significant staff turnover and retention challenges; the district experienced 15 to 20 departures in the current year. A special election is scheduled for August 25, 2026.
